MYC Uncensored is a podcast made up of young females, Youth workers and girls in the local community who have come together to share experiences and information to other young women in a way that is comfortable, relatable, reliable and real. We dive into topics of women’s health, mental health, relationships, careers, schooling life, being a young female in today’s society and other topics of interest including submissions by listeners.

On this episode on MYC Uncensored we recognise International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day and talk all about how to communicate to your parents or guardians about your sexuality. We discuss ways to educate yourself about your sexuality and ways to tell your parents eg "hey guys there is something I want to tell you, I am Bi". This way it opens a conversations which can help young people express and educate others about their own sexuality. We then discuss how parents may react which will look different depending their own religion, culture or own morals. However, despite these reactions we encourage, support and empower the young person to express their true self by being open about their own sexuality. However, even if you are not part of the LGBTQIA+ community we discuss how to be an ally which can empower this community. Have you or your friends have been through this situation?. On this episode on MYC Uncensored we answer the question "How do I tell my boyfriend I am not interested?". As usual, another interesting topic! There were different ways we viewed this question, one way was viewing it in a way where the young girl was not interested in continuing the relationship because of whatever reason or another, maybe the young girl didn't want to engage in any sexual activity. We spoke about many ways this question could be interpreted and hopefully helped answer it! What would you do in this situation? We'd love to hear your thoughts, opinions and experiences. Whether it is applying for a job, not being accepted to your desired school or what we speak about today, rejection from a guy. It can be a good thing, but at the time it happens, it can feel embarrassing and so awkward but hey, we can't turn back time or force him to change his mind. So then what? Being a young mum can have it's challenges and that's okay, there are organisations like us at Merrylands Youth Centre that can provide help in applying for study, paying off fines, food and when possible, handing out baby essentials such as nappies, baby clothing and all goods.
